All guides

What you need

Hanwha Techwin (formerly Samsung Techwin) makes professional-grade surveillance cameras under the Wisenet brand.

  • Hanwha Wisenet camera on your network
  • Camera credentials (set during first login)
  • A computer on the same LAN
  • A PanoraCast account

Step 1: Find your camera's IP address

Use Hanwha's IP Installer tool or Wisenet Device Manager to discover cameras on your network. Download from hanwha-security.com/support.

Step 2: Copy your RTSP URL

Hanwha cameras use profile-based RTSP URLs. Profile 1 is typically the main stream and Profile 2 is the sub stream.

bash
# Profile 1 (main stream)
rtsp://admin:[email protected]:554/profile1/media.smp

# Profile 2 (sub stream)
rtsp://admin:[email protected]:554/profile2/media.smp

Legacy Samsung models

Older Samsung Techwin cameras (before the Hanwha rebrand) may use different RTSP paths. Try /stw-cgi/video.cgi or /MediaInput/h264 if the standard URL doesn't work.

Step 3: Add to PanoraCast

In your PanoraCast dashboard, click 'Add Camera', select 'Hanwha', paste the RTSP URL, and test the connection.

Troubleshooting

Common issues:

  • Profile not found — Log into the web interface and check Setup > Video Profile to see available profiles
  • RTSP disabled — Enable RTSP in Setup > Network > RTSP on the camera's web interface
  • Authentication — Hanwha requires a strong password set at first login. No default password
